One-timer

A one-timer is a shot struck directly off a pass without first stopping or controlling the puck, the shooter timing a slap or snap shot to meet the puck as it arrives. Because the goaltender has to slide across to follow the pass and reset, a well-placed one-timer is the hardest shot in hockey to stop.
