Rear-naked choke

The rear-naked choke is the most reliable finish in mixed martial arts, a blood choke applied from an opponent's back: one arm wraps under the chin around the neck, the other locks it in behind the head, and the squeeze cuts blood flow through the carotid arteries. Done correctly it does not crush the windpipe, it puts an opponent to sleep in seconds, which is why fighters tap the instant it is locked.
