The MVP award quietly stopped meaning 'most valuable' — now it means best stats on a good-enough team
Ask ten people what Most Valuable Player is supposed to mean and you'll get some version of 'the guy his team could least afford to lose.' Then look at how the award actually gets voted, and it's measuring something totally different: gaudy counting stats, efficient scoring, and a team good enough to finish top four in the conference.
