UFC Featherweight

Featherweight is where speed, volume and cardio matter more than raw power, and it produces some of the most technically complete fighters in the sport. At 145 pounds the margins are thin: a step of footwork, a half-second of timing, an extra takedown in a close round. The division built its modern identity around long, dominant title reigns, most notably Alexander Volkanovski's, which reopened the eternal question of how you rank a fighter who keeps winning close, cerebral decisions rather than piling up highlight finishes. That is the featherweight argument in a nutshell: is a razor-sharp points machine more impressive than a wild finisher, or less? Add a constant flow of contenders moving up from bantamweight and down from lightweight, and the title picture rarely sits still for long. Debate the ceiling, the weight cuts, and who the real number one is. Follow the division at Sherdog.
