Leg kick
A leg kick is a strike thrown at an opponent's thigh or calf, and it's one of the sport's most consistently underrated weapons, quietly eroding an opponent's mobility and power over a fight rather than producing an instant, highlight-reel finish. The lower body generates more raw power than the arms, so a well-landed leg kick can hit harder than most punches, and repeated shots to the same leg compound: each one makes the next hurt more and slows the opponent's footwork and takedown ability a little further. Fighters generate power by rotating the hips through the strike rather than just swinging the leg, and the kick lands hardest against an opponent moving backward into it rather than one stepping away. It's a slow-burn weapon: a single leg kick rarely ends a fight, but three rounds of them frequently do, either through a fight-ending shot late or a decision built entirely on accumulated damage.
